Science is our passion, and this is reflected in each and every one of our Science t-shirts.
You see, from the very first time someone banged two stones together and created a spark, people's discoveries have shaped our lives and changed the way we all view the world. Our Science t-shirts are a tribute to Science, to its discoveries and to the tools it has given us that allow us to learn more than ever about our planet, about our universe and ultimately about ourselves as human beings.
Ironically, today, at a time when we are making new discoveries faster than ever before, Science is under threat. For example, funding for science research is hard to come by unless you are working of a project that has military applications or promises to generate money in return. Also, Science is being given less importance in schools and fewer children are studying the subject. And, worst of all, the authority of science is being distorted in the mind of the public at large, not least by those who would like to see objective scientific facts moulded and shaped to fit their beliefs.
Our Science t-shirt shop was born in September 2008 when we decided to take a stand against the widespread senseless scaremongering that surrounded the first test run of the Large Hadron Collider - the world's biggest scientific experiment and the result of decades of work by thousands of scientists.
The rumor that the Large Hadron Collider would destroy the world spread like wildfire on the Web by playing on people's fears and also thanks to an irresponsible media too jumped at the chance to boost their readership with sensational stories of impending doom. This madness inspired us to create our first Science t-shirt that defiantly states ‘I Survived the Large Hadron Collider Experiment’ in mockery of those who delighted in spreading these misinformed ideas. And we're not looking back in our fight to help restore the public's trust in and understanding of Science and bring it to the forefront once again.
